Alissa Pellegrino, MS
Alissa Pellegrino, MS, is a clinical extern in the ADHD and Behavior Disorders Center at the Child Mind Institute. Alissa has a specialized interest in the evaluation and treatment of children and families managing ADHD, ODD, CD, and similar behavior difficulties. She also has experience treating autism spectrum disorder and anxiety in children and adults.
Alissa has been trained in various evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) treatments. She utilizes a multi-disciplinary and person-centered approach to best meet the needs of the individual and their family. She is also a certified school psychologist in New York State and is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in school psychology at St. John’s University.
Alissa has provided individual and group therapy in diverse settings including schools and community mental health clinics. Prior to joining the Child Mind Institute, Alissa trained under a licensed psychologist as an extern in an elementary and high school, conducting psychoeducational evaluations and counseling for students ages 9–18. She has also conducted individual therapy at the St. John’s Center for Psychological Services for both children and adults.
Alissa is committed to providing exceptional, individualized care to children, adolescents, and young adults as they strive to overcome behavioral difficulties related to ADHD and other disorders. She believes that early, evidence-based interventions can promote a positive sense of self and build confidence in children as they navigate and grow to understand their unique brains.
