Emma L. Kreutzmann

Emma L. Kreutzmann is a behavioral technician in the Anxiety Disorders Center at the Child Mind Institute. She has a specialized interest in the treatment of selective mutism (SM) and other anxiety disorders in children. Ms. Kreutzmann has extensive training and experience delivering evidence-based SM treatment to families. She is a past Brave Buddies classroom leader and the current Brave Buddies program coordinator.

Ms. Kreutzmann has received training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), including Parent Child Interaction Therapy for Selective Mutism (PCIT-SM). She has experience providing individual and group therapy in outpatient and school settings. Ms. Kreutzmann has worked with children and adolescents with selective mutism, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), oppositional defiant disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder. She utilizes an integrative and person-centered approach to best meet the needs of the child, while working collaboratively with families and schools to promote lasting change.

Ms. Kreutzmann’s research interests include selective mutism, anxiety in preschool and elementary-aged children, and school refusal. She plans to pursue a doctorate in clinical psychology and a career dedicated to empowering children and families impacted by anxiety and increasing access to early intervention.
