Helya Honarpisheh is a data analyst with the Center for the Developing Brain, working under the supervision of Dr. Ting Xu. She received her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology in Tehran, Iran, with a focus on biomedical engineering and computational neuroscience. During her undergraduate training, Helya studied various low-frequency local field potential (LFP) signal processing methods used for rehabilitating the movement of monkeys.

Helya is a PhD student in biomedical engineering at The City College of New York. She is involved in multidisciplinary research in the fields of neural engineering and cognitive neuroscience. Her work focuses on utilizing circuit and network analysis and signal processing techniques to investigate brain connectomes in both human and non-human primates, as well as to understand brain development and evolution across different species.
