Isabella Xie (she/her/hers) is a psychology extern in the Anxiety Disorders Center at the Child Mind Institute. She is a third-year clinical psychology doctoral candidate at Palo Alto University, specializing in pediatric behavioral healthcare. Isabella holds a BA in Psychology and a BS in Cognitive Science with a minor in music from Johns Hopkins University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with honors in psychology and cognitive science.

Isabella is trained in affirmative services for LGBTQ+ populations and parent-child interaction therapy for selective mutism (PCIT-SM), and she has extensive research experience in evidence-based treatments for children with anxiety and related disorders. Isabella’s clinical experience includes working with children, adolescents, and transitional-aged youths with social anxiety, generalized anxiety, OCD, depression, eating disorders, selective mutism, and comorbid conditions, including attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism spectrum disorder. Alongside her externship at the Child Mind Institute, Isabella will complete her practicum training at the Neurodevelopmental Services Program at Pacific Clinics, conducting diagnostic evaluations and treatment for neurodiverse youths.

Isabella is committed to providing personalized, evidence-based care for children and their families. She is also passionate about working with underserved populations. As an international student from China, she is driven by a desire to contribute to mental health reform in her home country by reducing stigma, providing accessible and effective care, and improving existing practices.
