MRI Participant Navigator, Healthy Brain Network

Karen is an MRI Participant Navigator for the Healthy Brain Network. She is responsible for MRI scan preparation, data collection, and liaising between participants and research staff to ensure a positive experience for children and their families.
Karen studied psychology at the University of California, San Diego, where she was involved with research in a behavioral incentives lab focused on judgment formation and decision-making. She has worked with a variety of nonprofits and is excited to be at the intersection of neuroscience, behavioral research, and service-focused initiatives at the Child Mind Institute. Her research interests also include the effects of inflammation on physical and mental health, and she is passionate about the development of biological and behavioral approaches to healthy brain development.
