Lei Cao is a neuroimaging research associate for the Healthy Brain Network. She primarily works on neuroimaging data processing and analysis. Her responsibilities also include data organization and quality assurance. Under the supervision of Drs. Alexandre Franco and Michael Milham, Lei works mostly with multimodal neuroimaging MRI data (including Structural, Functional and Diffusion Weighted Imaging), but also works on other projects that include EEG, physiological and eye-tracking data.
Lei received a master’s degree in Neuroimaging and Informatics from the University of Southern California. After graduation, Lei worked in the McLean Hospital, where her focus was on complex data analysis of multimodal MR data. Her research also involved developing a preprocessing pipeline for non-human primate datasets, characterizing alterations in functional connectivity following drug administration and using a novel time-lagged correlation procedure to remove low-frequency noise from fMRI datasets.
