Leonor Aziza Solano is a social work intern with the Healthy Brain Network. In her role Aziza assists with data collection and conducting psychosocial assessments, as well as growing the study’s referral network and Pediatric Screening Initiative.

Aziza is a Bronx native who believes in the power of community. She earned her bachelor’s degree in media communications from The College of New Rochelle and currently attends Yeshiva University for her master’s degree in social work.

Aziza previously held several health education positions where she connected families with community-based organizations in the Bronx. She was featured in the New York Times and The Chronicle of Social Work in 2018 for her work in child welfare. She currently works at Albert Einstein College of Medicine as an education coordinator in the Family and Social Medicine Department, where she supports third- and fourth-year medical students during their clerkship project on quality improvement in the Bronx. She hopes to be a force for positive change in the lives of families struggling with mental health and learning disorders through her work at the Child Mind Institute.
