Mary Alex Bowen, MPH, is a research program manager for the Global Landscape Mapping initiative at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Global Center for Child and Adolescent Mental Health at the Child Mind Institute. In this role, she works on the development of the Item Bank Assessment tool and the implementation and management of research study initiatives in Brazil and South Africa.

Previously, Bowen was a clinical research program manager at Columbia University and New York State Psychiatric Institute’s Child Psychiatry Department, where she oversaw grant-funded research programs at the Center for Intergenerational Psychiatry, developed operational systems, supervised data collection activities, and coordinated quality assurance protocols. She also served as a research coordinator for the Boricua Youth Study, where she coordinated data collection with a cohort of pregnant women and children and conducted clinical interviews, behavioral assessments, fMRIs and biospecimen collections (both in person and remotely) in the Bronx, New York, and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
