Maya Stevenson is an intake coordinator with the Healthy Brain Network. She serves alongside the clinical and research teams to support families interested in participating in the study. Maya joins the Healthy Brain Network after working as a program assistant with the Child Mind Institute’s School and Community Program team, where she co-led behavior and learning disorder treatment groups. Her background includes an interdisciplinary African American studies and sociology degree, complemented by experiences in educational and community activism. Maya’s research experience includes a senior honors thesis, which investigated the impacts of ableism and systemic racism on the effectiveness of university medical leave policies among multiply marginalized students. Her previous work also includes non-profit and advocacy experiences concerning issues of health equity and access. Maya is committed to supporting clinicians and families in creating uplifting opportunities for children’s wellness and joy.
