Michael Appelgren, PsyD, is a school psychologist with the Healthy Brain Network. He earned his educational specialist’s degree in school psychology from Seton Hall University and received his doctoral training in school psychology with a concentration in cognitive-behavioral therapy and neuropsychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Appelgren completed a predoctoral internship with the New Jersey Juvenile Justice Commission and Rutgers University. He has experience working with clients with a variety of diagnoses and challenges, including depression, anxiety, psychosis, personality disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, learning disorders, trauma and grief.

Dr. Appelgren is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist and holds a diploma from the American Board of School Neuropsychology. In addition, Dr. Appelgren holds his school administrator’s certificate. He has experience working with students in general education and special education from pre-kindergarten to 12th grade in urban and suburban areas.

As a school psychologist with the Healthy Brain Network, Dr. Appelgren conducts psycho-educational assessments and intakes with study participants ranging from children, adolescents and young adults. Results from these evaluations are included as part of comprehensive feedback and referrals for families. He enjoys helping young people identify their strengths and overcome obstacles to social, emotional and academic functioning.
