Muthoni Mahachi

MRI Participant Navigator, Healthy Brain Network

Muthoni Mahachi is an MRI participant navigator with the Healthy Brain Network, where she supports research participants and their families during their imaging visits conducted at MRI sites in both New York and New Jersey. She schedules and runs MRI visits, ensuring optimal data collection and quality. Muthoni previously worked at Success Academy Charter Schools in their special education or 12:1:1 program, where she developed a passion for assisting students with learning disabilities.

Muthoni graduated from Hofstra University with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and a minor in fine arts. She has previously done research on antibiotic resistance, altering the primary structure of proteins and collecting data on their turnover rate. She was also a co-founder of Hofstra’s Amnesty International chapter, where she was actively involved in their Write for Rights campaign to free prisoners of conscience.
