T’yanna Maheia

T’yanna Maheia is a research assistant for the Healthy Brain Network. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, with a concentration in psychology, from City College University. T’yanna has extensive experience working with young children as a preschool teacher. During that time she worked to aide young children in developing critical cognitive, emotional and social skills. Recently she began working with a multidisciplinary team to assess the developmental progression of children with traumatic brain injuries. T’yanna is currently working on her master’s degree at Northcentral University, studying child and adolescent developmental psychology. Her goals are to purse her doctorate degree in neuropsychology and focus on the neurological impacts of childhood adversity.
