Wednesday, June 2, 2010 · 12:00 pm

More than 600 clinicians, educators, parents and students gathered at Rockefeller University for the Child Mind Institute’s inaugural public education event, The Adam Jeffrey Katz Memorial Conversation. The Katz Lecture is a two-part program designed to raise awareness and educate the public about Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and dyslexia.

The first session featured a lecture by preeminent dyslexia researchers from the Yale University School of Medicine, Drs. Sally and Bennett Shaywitz. The second session featured a candid conversation between Dr. Koplewicz and Orlando Bloom about the actor’s experience growing up with dyslexia.

Part I: Drs. Bennett and Sally Shaywitz present “Dyslexia and Creativity: Two Sides of the Same Coin.”

Part II: A Conversation Between Dr. Koplewicz and Actor Orlando Bloom on Living with Dyslexia and ADD.
