Support for Stressed Parents

November 16, 2021

It’s common to be hard on ourselves as parents. I don’t make enough time for my kids. I can’t believe I lost my temper — again. A good parent would never have forgotten about that field trip. And if you’re dealing with your own anxiety, it can be even harder to cut yourself slack. But at the same time, we know that taking care of our own mental health is an important part of caring for our children.

This week on childmind.org we round up resources for parents under stress. We offer tips on parenting mindfully and preventing burnout when your child has intense needs. And in an excerpt from a new book, The Anxiety Sisters’ Survival Guide, the authors explain how to quiet that constant critic in your head and show yourself some kindness.
