Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton Presented Brooke Garber Neidich With the 2019 Child Advocacy Award for Her Commitment to Improving the Lives of Children With Mental Health and Learning Disorders

NEW YORK, NY – The Child Mind Institute celebrated its 10th anniversary at the organization’s Child Advocacy Award Dinner last night at Cipriani 42ndStreet. Secretary Hillary ClintonBrooke ShieldsMary-Kate OlsenJesse Eisenberg and Jane Rosenthal were in attendance to honor and celebrate individuals committed to helping children overcome mental health and learning disorders. Secretary Clinton made a surprise appearance to present Child Mind Institute co-founder and board of directors co-chair Brooke Garber Neidich, a passionate and tireless champion for children struggling with mental health disorders, with the 2019 Child Advocacy Award.

“Brooke has been a constant all these years, and none of this would have been possible without her,” said Harold S. Koplewicz, MD, president and medical director of the Child Mind Institute. “She is a wonderful, dynamic, compassionate person and, like the Child Mind Institute, she is relentless and revolutionary.” Sec. Clinton added, “Brooke has helped create a place that is dedicated to children’s mental health, an independent nonprofit dedicated to transforming the lives of children and families with mental health and learning disorders. A place whose door is always open. Something that is more important than ever today.”

An impressive $7 million was raised to support the Child Mind Institute’s innovative clinical services and research. Actress and author Ali Wentworth served as the host for the event.
