Dior Vargas, outreach coordinator at Project UROK, gave the closing keynote at this year’s Active Minds National Conference on November 6 in Sacramento, CA. This year’s theme was “Active Minds for Every Mind: Diversity. Inclusion. Unity.” Dior spoke about the intersection of mental health and race, presenting a thoughtful and compelling narrative of her personal history with mental health disorders and how she uses her experiences to help others. Dior also visited Bowdoin College on November 11 to run a series of events on the intersection of race and mental health. She hosted a workshop about People of Color and Mental Health and gave a keynote on the topic.
