About This Event

Evidence-based prevention and intervention programs for young children and families reduce risk for psychopathology and foster healthy parent-child relationships. Nevertheless, challenges with engagement remain, resulting in fewer parents utilizing programs that could improve outcomes. Dr. Doctoroff’s lecture focuses on sharing findings from research using an innovative approach from market research to improve the likelihood of uptake of preventative group parent training programs in Head Start. Clinically, she will also focus on ways to tailor evidence-based treatment to the unique needs of young children and families to improve collaboration and engagement with a focus on case examples that avoid a one-size-fits-all approach.

Learning Objectives

  • Participants will list two key findings from consumer preference research in Head Start with implications for the use of evidence-based prevention programs.
  • Participants will describe at least three ways to tailor evidence-based treatment for young children.
  • Participants will list two principles to guide the tailoring of treatment.

Disclosures
