Iterating Toward Better Treatments for Pediatric Mood Disorders

This webinar considers the promise of utilizing neuroscience tools to aim for reliable and lasting improvements in symptoms for a large number of children and adolescents who experience a broad spectrum of mood problems. The presentation considers the importance of understanding and leveraging the placebo effect and measuring mechanisms of change, both in the way that treatments are configured and in the way that future clinical trials are designed.

Learning Objectives:

• Apply knowledge of how mood symptoms commonly present in youth, historical perspectives, and current state of neuroscience to guide us toward better evaluation of pediatric mood disorders.
• Utilize current neuroscience knowledge to guide us toward developing better treatments for pediatric mood disorders.
• Integrate knowledge from prior studies, including the placebo effect in pediatric depression clinical trials, to design new clinical trials.
