Eagle Hill Student Art Show: “New York City: An Exploration of Lines”
The Child Mind Institute's Student Art Project presents New York City: An Exploration of Lines, with works by the students of Eagle Hill School.
Whether the iconic skyline, the columns of Grand Central, or the rectangular lines of subway tile, New York City provides endless inspiration for artists working with line. The playful architectural line drawings by graphic artist Marz jr. served as further inspiration for students as they created dynamic cityscapes of their own — drawings and prints including brownstones, bridges, subways, stadiums, and more.
For students at Eagle Hill, many of whom struggle to read or write, the ability to express themselves artistically is incredibly important. Art and music classes are part of every child’s curriculum, and there are opportunities for students to continue to hone their skills during our Afternoon Activities Program.
Eagle Hill School serves students ages 5-15 with language-based learning disabilities including, but not limited to, dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, executive functioning disorder, auditory processing disorder, and ADHD. Our individualized, skills-based program is taught by a highly credentialed faculty, uses individualized learning strategies, and is grounded in the latest research in educating students who learn differently.
The Child Mind Institute Student Art Project is supported by the Doris and Melvin Sirow Art Fund. The fund honors the legacy of Doris and Melvin Sirow by ensuring that the Student Art Project continues to give schools from the New York metropolitan area the opportunity to exhibit student’s work at the Child Mind Institute.
