How Technology Can Help Kids With Learning Disabilities

March 8, 2022

Specialized tools can help kids with learning disabilities overcome obstacles, enabling them to learn more and have more positive experiences in school. It’s called assistive technology, or AT, and it can give kids who struggle with reading, writing or speaking ways to express themselves, show what they know, and keep up with classmates.

This week on childmind.org we explore types of AT that can help kids do everything from solving a math problem to dictating an essay to keeping track of homework assignments. We explain how to work with your school to get your child evaluated for AT and ensure that it’s as helpful as possible. And we round up other resources on identifying, and supporting, kids with learning disabilities.
