Alanna Greenberger, MS
Alanna Greenberger, MS, is a psychology extern in the Anxiety and Mood Disorders Center at the Child Mind Institute. She is pursuing her doctoral degree in Pediatric Behavioral Health Care at Palo Alto University where she earned her master’s degree in clinical psychology.
Alanna is knowledgeable in empirically validated treatments for children, adolescents, and young adults with anxiety, depression, PTSD, mood, and behavior disorders. She has training in cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), written exposure therapy (WET), and selective mutism.
Alanna has experience in clinical and research settings. At the Stanford Cognitive and Systems Neuroscience Laboratory, Alanna administered neuropsychological and achievement tests for research involving children aged 5-12 with neurodevelopmental and learning differences. She also contributes to research at the Fidelity, Adaptation, Sustainability and Training Lab in the National Center for PTSD at Stanford University, focusing on cutting-edge treatments for PTSD and training tools for therapists. Additionally, she works with the Center for the Study and Treatment of Anxious Youth (CSTAY) under the mentorship of Robert Friedberg, PhD, a leader in child anxiety treatment. Alanna has also served as an extern in a hospital psychiatric day treatment program for adolescents experiencing severe psychological and behavioral disturbances.
Alanna is warm, welcoming, and compassionate. She begins therapy with a thorough assessment and views psychological treatment as a collaborative process where the client and clinician work together towards mutually agreed-upon goals. Her approach is grounded in the latest empirical research, and she believes in flexibly tailoring treatment to meet the needs of each individual and family.
