Andrea Aware, LMSW

Andrea Aware, LMSW is a clinical social worker with the School and Community Programs team at the Child Mind Institute.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in education studies from Wesleyan University and her master’s degree in advanced clinical social work practice at Columbia University School of Social Work.

Andrea has significant experience working in school settings within diverse communities across New York and Connecticut. Prior to joining the Child Mind Institute, Andrea served as a social work intern for Friends of WHEELS in Washington Heights. In this role, she provided individual academic and social-emotional counseling to junior and senior year students at a public high school. Her educational, professional and personal experiences drive her commitment to promoting access to evidence-based, culturally responsive mental health services among historically marginalized and under-resourced communities.
