
Brandon Silverman
Brandon Silverman is a policy expert on social media transparency. He was formerly the CEO and co-founder of CrowdTangle, a social analytics tool acquired by Facebook in 2016. Brandon left in October 2021 amid a debate over how much information the company should make public about its platform.
Since then, Brandon has been advising civil society organizations and lawmakers around the world to design legislation requiring large online platforms to share more data with the outside world. He’s testified in the U.S. Senate and Australian Parliament about transparency regulation, and his writing and commentary has appeared in The New York Times, BBC, The Guardian, and CNN.
