Claudia Morris, MEd
Claudia Morris is a research assistant for the Healthy Brain Network at the Child Mind Institute. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in digital humanities. She earned her master’s degree in education with an emphasis in social-emotional learning from National University.
Upon graduating from UCLA, Claudia joined Teach for America as a corps member. She spent two years working as a first-grade teacher in Oakland, California, where she received extensive training in the Universal Design for Learning and trauma-informed care. Previously, she also helped facilitate a weekly anxiety and depression support group for adults through United Self Help. Currently, Claudia remotely assists Dr. Margaret Sala’s Mindfulness and Eating Disorders Lab at Yeshiva University on a volunteer basis.
In her role at the Healthy Brain Network, Claudia assists in data collection, data entry, and scoring assessments. She plans to pursue a doctoral degree in clinical psychology so that she can study and improve the mental health of children who have experienced trauma. As a certified yoga instructor, Claudia is particularly interested in studying somatic forms of healing from adverse life experiences. As part of the Healthy Brain Network and beyond, Claudia is committed to helping children learn, cope, and thrive.
