
Emily Chun
Emily Chun is a research assistant with the Healthy Brain Network at the Child Mind Institute. She graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor’s degree in bioengineering.
While pursuing her undergraduate degree, Chun participated in an outreach program that introduced K-12 students to the basic concepts of bioengineering. Through her coursework, she helped design and prototype interactive virtual reality simulations to help autistic children practice life skills in a safe and controlled virtual environment. She also conducted interviews with autistic individuals and their families to define the project’s direction.
As a research assistant with the Healthy Brain Network, Chun is responsible for enrolling study participants, administering and scoring research assessments, and documenting assessment data. She is interested in research exploring different neurotypes and neurological disorders, and how it can be used to improve patients’ quality of life.
