Emily Swant, MA, is a psychology extern at the ADHD and Behavioral Disorders Center at the Child Mind Institute. She specializes in therapy for children and adolescents with externalizing disorders. Swant has extensive experience in providing evidence-based care to children and adolescents with a range of concerns, including attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), anxiety disorders, social and behavioral challenges, and trauma-related conditions.

Before joining the Child Mind Institute, Swant provided therapy, conducted diagnostic assessments with students, and offered consultation to parents and teachers in the Newark School District. At the Center for Psychological Services at Rutgers University, she offered individual therapy and diagnostic evaluations. And at the Quad Preparatory School Swant served as a psychosocial aide, delivering one-on-one behavioral support and crisis intervention to twice-exceptional students with ADHD and autism.

Swant is dedicated to fostering a collaborative and compassionate therapeutic environment that supports the growth and well-being of children and adolescents. Grounded in empathy and guided by each client’s unique experiences, she strives to provide holistic care that empowers children and their families.
