
Emma Petree, LMSW
Emma Petree, LMSW is a social worker with the Child Mind Institute’s School and Community Programs team in the San Francisco Bay Area. Emma received her master’s in social work at the University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Social Work with a focus on macro-level clinical and behavioral health. Emma is passionate about the intersection between education and mental health, and has diverse experience using evidence-based interventions to support children with various challenges.
Emma’s past clinical experience includes helping facilitate Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) groups for adolescents struggling with substance use, as well as delivering group and individual therapy to students with varied emotional and learning disabilities in a special education school. Emma previously served the state of Maryland’s public child welfare system, working both with licensed foster parents to address the physical and emotional needs of foster youth and as a caseworker, providing trauma-responsive services and collaborating with multiple professions to ensure the safety, stability, and well-being of youth in foster care. Emma is dedicated to increasing access to effective mental health education and services for underserved student populations. Understanding that strengths already exist within every person and community, Emma seeks to emphasize community care in her work.
