Gabby Goldentyer, MA, is a psychology extern in the Mood Disorders Center at the Child Mind Institute. She is pursuing her doctoral degree in clinical psychology at Hofstra University and obtained her master’s degree in clinical psychology from Columbia University. Gabby specializes in providing therapy to children, adolescents, and families. She works with young individuals dealing with anxiety disorders, mood disorders, eating disorders, behavioral challenges, and executive functioning concerns.

Using evidence-based interventions, Gabby incorporates techniques rooted in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). She has experience working with various behavioral therapies, including parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). Throughout her training, Gabby has provided individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and parenting sessions.

Before joining the Child Mind Institute, Gabby was the lab manager of the Anxiety and Mood Program in the Child Outpatient Psychiatry Department at Montefiore Medical Center. In this position, she contributed to social anxiety and trauma groups for adolescents and conducted research on the usability of a comic book that teaches mindfulness strategies to children.

Gabby is committed to creating a validating and supportive space for her clients to express themselves while also giving them the tools and strategies to progress towards better overall well-being. She is dedicated to making treatments individualized and collaborative with an approach rooted in cultural humility. Gabby is passionate about working with young people; she believes that early intervention provides a powerful pathway to a healthy outcome.
