Jennifer Siebel Newsom is the First Partner of California, an award-winning filmmaker, and an influential advocate and partner to women, moms, and families.
 
As a filmmaker and thought leader on gender equity, Jennifer has written, directed, and produced the critically-acclaimed documentaries Miss Representation, The Mask You Live In, The Great American Lie, and Fair Play. As a result of Miss Representation’s impact, Jennifer founded The Representation Project, which tackles sexism in media and has spearheaded successful campaigns seen by millions around the world, including #AskHerMore and #NotBuyingIt. 
 
Jennifer is also cofounder of the California Partners Project, an organization that champions gender equity across the state and ensures California’s media and technology industries are a force for good in the lives of all children. 
 
As First Partner of California, Jennifer launched the California for ALL Women and California for ALL Kids initiatives. Through California for ALL Kids, she champions initiatives that support children’s mental and physical health, as well as provide families with the tools to build a solid learning foundation. And through California for ALL Women, she’s making strides to build economic equity, equal representation, and advance a family-first agenda.
 
Jennifer also serves as honorary chair of the California Volunteers Commission and co-chair of the Governor’s Advisory Council on Physical Fitness and Mental Well-Being, and is the co-founder of the California Partners Project.
 
Jennifer graduated with honors from Stanford University and Stanford Graduate School of Business. She is married to Governor Gavin Newsom and is the mother of their four young children.
