John Vito d’Antonio-Bertagnolli, MS, is the project manager of the Mobile Brain/Body Imaging (MoBI) Core within the Center for Strategic Data Initiatives (SDI) at the Child Mind Institute.

John Vito earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biomedical engineering at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). As an undergraduate researcher, John Vito developed a virtual reality game intended to treat a common pediatric vision disorder. He co-founded and served as CEO of OculoMotor Technologies, a medical device software company that successfully brought his research to market. He garnered several accolades during his role as CEO, including the 2019 NJ Tech Council “Innovator to Watch” award, the 2019 Augment World Expo “Most Innovative Breakthrough” award, and the 2023 Research and Development Council of NJ’s “Edison Patent Award for Medical Technology.” He was also listed in the 2021 NJBIZ “Forty Under 40” and the 2022 NJBIZ “Next Generation of Leaders.”

In addition to his corporate leadership, John Vito concurrently served as an adjunct professor in biomedical engineering at his alma mater. He developed and delivered curricula for introductory programming, signal processing, and engineering design courses for hundreds of students. His dedication to education was acknowledged with NJIT’s 2022 Excellence in Instruction by an Adjunct Faculty award. John Vito has also mentored numerous high school, undergraduate, and graduate student research teams.

Coming from a family of physicians, John Vito is deeply passionate about patient care, education, and medical science. In his role leading the MoBI Core, he aims to accelerate the Child Mind Institute’s ongoing research objectives in pediatric mental health.
