Joseph Elias, MPH, PMP
Joe Elias, MPH, is the managing director of the SNF Global Center for Child and Adolescent Mental Health at the Child Mind Institute. He will oversee strategic planning and operational execution, collaborate with international partners, and make sure that the Center’s initiatives align with the Child Mind Institute’s mission.
He has extensive experience in global health, social impact, and partnerships — having demonstrated a strong commitment to improving the lives of children and adolescents worldwide. Over the last two decades, he has worked on award winning programs that have reached over 30 million children and contributed to evidence-based programs in the public health, social impact, and early childhood development sectors worldwide.
With a background in developing multi-country programs and partnerships, he has held key leadership positions in prominent organizations, most recently serving as the senior program director at Sesame Workshop. There, he oversaw the implementation of a large-scale early childhood development initiative in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. During his tenure, he managed multi-million-dollar budgets, led a broad network of partners, and contributed to expanding program reach for children affected by crisis and displacement. Prior to that, he directed global health programs and managed large-scale initiatives at Global Health Corps, Columbia University’s ICAP, and organizations that allowed him to work across the globe.
By using his systems design mindset and an approach that centers equity and community, Joe hopes to support the mental health of children and young people around the world.
