Katelyn Reese, MS
Katelyn (Katie) Reese, MS, is a psychology extern in the Anxiety Disorders Center at the Child Mind Institute. She specializes in therapy for emerging adults with anxiety and depressive disorders as well as children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), executive functioning issues, and behavioral challenges.
Reese has experience working with various behavioral therapies, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and acceptance commitment therapy (ACT). She’s provided diagnostic assessments, parent consultation, and therapy in a multitude of settings including the Oyster Bay-East Norwich School District, Brentwood School District, and the medical clinic Long Island Neuropsychological Consultants. Reese worked in both the Positive Psychology Institute for Emerging Adults Clinic and the Diagnostic and Research Institute for Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) Clinic at Hofstra University — where she provided both individual and group-based cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy.
In her position at the Anxiety Disorders Center, Reese will provide individual therapy, parent training, and group-based interventions. She utilizes evidence-based methods, with a strong foundation in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
Reese sees therapy as a team effort where growth, learning, and understanding are the main goals. She incorporates aspects of positive psychology, mindfulness, and self-compassion into treatment sessions.
