Natalia Lago

Natalia Lago is a research assistant for the Autism Center at the Child Mind Institute. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Texas (UT) at Austin.

As an undergraduate, Natalia served as a research assistant at UT Austin’s Developmental Intelligence Lab. She contributed to ongoing projects investigating the impact of statistical regularities and joint attention on infant word-learning using head-mounted eye trackers. Natalia also has experience working with children in clinical settings. She worked as a therapeutic childcare specialist at Helping Hand Home residential treatment facility where she cared for elementary-aged children in the foster care system.

As a research assistant for the Autism Center, Natalia contributes to several aspects of recruitment, enrollment, as well as data collection and management of behavioral and neuroimaging data under the guidance of Adriana Di Martino, MD. She is excited to be part of ongoing studies that utilize innovative neuroimaging techniques exploring mechanisms of change in early childhood that can inform early developmental interventions for autism and related neurodevelopmental conditions. Natalia is interested in early childhood mental health care and plans to pursue a doctorate in clinical psychology.
