Tao Isabel Buck
Tao graduated from Amsterdam University College in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and neuroscience. Following graduation, she completed a 2-year post-baccalaureate program at the Yale Brain Function Lab, a social neuroscience lab examining the neural underpinnings of live social communication through fNIRS and EEG. At Yale, Tao studied brain networks and their interactions and worked with autistic participants to better understand their similarities and differences within a social context. This work increased her motivation to continue learning about autism, and as a research assistant at the Child Mind Institute she hopes to gain valuable experience in clinical psychology and neuroscience. In this role Tao is looking forward to helping recruit participants, assisting with the collection of MRI and behavioral data (including sleep MRI scans), evaluating and ensuring data quality, and helping pre-process and analyze data.
