First Lady of New York City, Chirlane McCray Presented Corporate Advocate Award

NBC’s Cynthia McFadden hosted the celebration of those who are helping change the way we think about and treat childhood mental health and learning disorders

NEW YORK, NY – The Child Mind Institute’s 4th annual Change Maker Awards honored individuals and organizations that are making positive change in children’s mental health and raising awareness of the need for early intervention to help kids lead healthy lives. One in five children suffers from a mental health or learning disorder, and 80% of chronic mental disorders begin in childhood. There is an urgent need to identify the signs of these conditions early in life if children are to get the care and support they need to thrive.

Cynthia McFadden, Senior Legal and Investigative Correspondent for NBC News, hosted the event, and was joined on stage by New York City’s First Lady, Chirlane McCray.
