10/28/16 From October 25-28 the Child Mind Institute was represented with a booth at the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry annual meeting, which took place in New York City this year. Psychiatrists from around the world attended the meeting and stopped by the Child Mind Institute’s booth to learn more about our clinical programs, financial aid program, the Healthy Brain Network and more. The Child Mind Institute also hosted its annual On the Shoulders of Giants Scientific Symposium as one of AACAP’s events, which featured talks by the 2016 Distinguished Scientist John L.R. Rubenstein, MD, PhD, along with Stewart A. Anderson, MD, and Daniel Vogt, PhD. The Child Mind Institute’s Harold s. Koplewicz, MD, Michael Milham, MD, PhD, Matthew State, MD, PhD, and Bennett Leventhal, MD, also participated. Prior to the symposium, six high school seniors with outstanding accomplishments in science were presented with Rising Scientist certificates at a breakfast. They will also receive a $1000 scholarship for college expenses. Honorees included:

  • Rachel Goldman, Ardsley Union Free School District
  • Claire Kelly, John F. Kenney High School
  • Lauren Singer, Scarsdale High School
