The Child Mind Institute’s OCD Intensive Service
July 1, 2016
On July 1, the Child Mind Institute launched a new OCD Intensive Service. Headed by Jerry Bubrick, PhD, Senior Director, Anxiety & Mood Disorders Center, the service is an immersive therapy program that lasts anywhere from 2-5 weeks, depending on the severity of the patient’s OCD, and how quickly progress is made. Dr. Bubrick uses exposure therapy to help children who have been overwhelmed by anxiety learn skills they need to take their lives back — and see their anxiety diminish — over several intense, back-to-back sessions. Read more in our Q&A with Dr. Bubrick, as he explains why intensive intervention can be so effective and life changing, even for families who have had discouraging experiences with earlier treatment.
