April 15, 2015

Creative Director and Stylist Kate Young brings her nuanced design to a new women’s and kids’ collection. A portion of proceeds from sales to benefit the Child Mind Institute.

New York, NY, April 15, 2015 — Tura Inc. announces a new collection with the multi-talented creative director and stylist, Kate Young, who’s designed a new women’s optical and sunglass, and kids’ optical range for Summer 2015. Kate Young for Tura was created with the history of eyewear in cinema in mind, taking cues from iconic styles from the golden era of Hollywood, while infusing modern detailing and materials. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds from sales of kids’ eyewear will be donated to the Child Mind Institute, a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming mental health care for children everywhere.

“I’m really excited about this project and wanted to create a vintage inspired collection that is sophisticated, elegant and timeless,” said Kate Young. “Tura has a tremendous heritage in the eyewear market but is also incredibly innovative, modern and focused on quality to make an ideal partnership. Most importantly we are able to donate proceeds to an amazing organization, the Child Mind Institute, whose tireless work improves the lives of children everywhere.”

The rich color palette includes amber, tortoise, blush, crystal, khaki, black and grey. The collection consists of six optical styles and seven sunglasses that feature unique metal details with Swarovski accents to create a subtle statement. The styles range in mood from understated chic in a slim black cat eye, to a bold bone textured sunglass with gold metal inlays. The optical styles range from metal and acetate combinations that exude daring style to soft clear blush frames, offering Young’s take on blending retro styling into the modern wardrobe.

The Kate Young for Tura collection will be available beginning in May 2015. Women’s optical will retail at $250 and sunglasses from $295 to $350.

“In addition to being the mother of two young boys and an acclaimed stylist, Kate Young shares my passion for helping all children reach their fullest potential. By partnering with the Child Mind Institute on this exciting initiative, Kate will raise much-needed funds and priceless public awareness for kids who struggle with a brain disorder. We’re excited to partner with Kate as she develops her new line of children’s eyewear,” said Brooke Garber Neidich, Co-Founder and Board Chair of the Child Mind Institute.
