Financial Aid Fund
Since its inception in 2011 our Financial Aid Fund has helped hundreds of children gain access to quality clinical care.
Our Financial Aid Fund was developed to assist patients in need and is critical to removing the barrier of cost that too often hinders access to care. At the Child Mind Institute, we believe that every child deserves the support he or she needs to succeed, and every family deserves access to good clinical care. Since its inception in March 2011, the Financial Aid Fund has provided $3.2 million in financial assistance to help hundreds of children and families gain access to quality treatment at the Child Mind Institute.
One special component of the Financial Aid program is the CMI Cares Fund, which makes it possible for eligible families to come to the Child Mind Institute for treatment by defraying the cost of travel and lodging. Inspired by the desire to make high-quality treatment accessible to families living outside of New York City, board member Lisa Domenico Brooke established the CMI Cares Fund in 2013.
Support the Financial Aid Fund
Our financial aid programs are made possible thanks to the generosity of our donors. Support for our Financial Aid Fund helps not just children who are struggling, but whole families that are profoundly affected by those struggles.
Families travel from all around the world to access the evidence-based care that the Child Mind Institute provides. We’ve seen patients from 45 states and 33 nations — from Arizona, California, and Texas to South Korea, India, Haiti, and Brazil.
Mental health and learning disorders that go untreated in childhood lead to academic failure, substance abuse, clashes with the juvenile justice system, and even suicide. By receiving high-quality evidence-based care early, children have a better chance of overcoming their struggles and growing up to live healthy, fulfilling lives.
