About This Trial

About This Trial

Depression is one of the most common mental health challenges among adolescents and young adults. While effective treatments exist, staying engaged can be a constant struggle for many young people.

The structured, short-term approach of Brief Behavioral Activation (BBA) makes it an efficient option for those exhibiting symptoms of depression. By tapping into what the young person values — meaningful activities that once sparked joy and a sense of accomplishment — BBA increases rewarding behaviors while reducing patterns of inactivity and negative thinking. Most youth see improvements in as few as eight sessions.

To support adherence, this trial includes Kandoo, a mobile app designed to make treatment more engaging through game-like features. Kandoo helps clinicians and patients track mood, monitor progress, and stay on course.
