Child Mind Institute

Ally Herrnson is a Mentorship Coordinator for the Youth Mental Health Academy (YMHA) at the Child Mind Institute. She is responsible for planning, implementing, and administering the mentorship component of the YMHA program and providing support on other YMHA projects as needed. Ally was previously a Senior MRI Participant Navigator with the Healthy Brain Network at the Child Mind Institute.

While studying for her undergraduate degree at the University at Buffalo, Ally worked as a research assistant in the Biological Sciences Lab. She also worked as a medical intern under Dr. Hongbiao Liu for Luna Medical Care, where she shadowed Dr. Liu, attended case management meetings, and assisted with maintaining medical records. Ally has also interned with the Child Mind Institute’s Summer Treatment Program for children with behavioral and cognitive disorders.

Ally’s undergraduate career and extracurricular experiences affirmed her passion for improving children’s mental health. She hopes to pursue a doctorate in psychology.
