Brooke Garber Neidich
Brooke Garber Neidich co-founded the Child Mind Institute in 2009 with Harold S. Koplewicz, MD, and Debra G. Perelman. She is the owner and creative director of Sidney Garber Fine Jewelry, an 80-year-old business founded by her father, and she donates all her profits to support children’s mental health, the arts, women’s reproductive freedom, and ending gun violence.
Neidich serves as a trustee of Lincoln Center Theater and the Whitney Museum of American Art, where she co-chaired the board from 2008 to 2015. She is a former trustee of The Brick Church School, the Chapin School, the Child Study Center at NYU, New York University, New York University Medical Center, and New York University Medical School.
Her philanthropic work has been widely recognized, receiving awards including the Distinguished Community Service Award from the United Hospital Fund (1999) and the “Catcher in the Rye” Humanitarian Award from the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (2002). She was honored at the 5th Annual Women in the Arts with Lynda Benglis, Teresita Fernandez, and Madeleine Grynsztejn (2014), and named a Distinguished Leader in Special Education by Education Update (2015). In 2015, sheand her husband, Daniel, were named Living Landmarks by the New York Landmarks Conservancy. In 2019, she received both the inaugural Town & Country Jewelry Philanthropist of the Year Award and the Child Mind Institute Child Advocacy Award. She was honored by the Whitney Museum of American Art (2024) and, most recently, was given the Swan Award at the Swan Ball in Nashville (2025).
Neidich holds a BA from New York University. She serves on the board of the Child Mind Institute alongside her husband and is a proud parent and grandparent.
