Delice Lumbu Mayamba

Delice Lumbu Mayamba is the director of Youth Engagement at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Global Center for Child and Adolescent Mental Health at the Child Mind Institute. In her role, she leads youth engagement across the SNF Global Center’s in-country Youth Councils and Global Youth Advisory Council (GYAC). Her work focuses on creating meaningful opportunities for young people to shape mental health programs, research, advocacy, and global conversations.

Lumbu Mayamba’s is also a lay counselor at the School of Hard Knocks, where she supports young people through mental health education, mentorship, and individual counselling. She previously worked with the Adonis Musati Project, supporting refugee and marginalized young people and developing her skills in facilitation, leadership, and youth empowerment.

Lumbu Mayamba’s passion for youth work is rooted in her experiences navigating identity, belonging, and resilience as a Congolese young person growing up in South Africa. She advocates for young people having a genuine role in shaping the decisions and systems that affect their lives.
