Demerris R. Brooks, EdD

Demerris R. Brooks, EdD, is the Senior Director of the School and Community Programs at the Child Mind Institute in the San Francisco Bay Area. She oversees the operations of the California-based teams delivering prevention services and clinical treatment to students in partner public and charter schools, and professional training to educators and school-based mental health professionals.

As a teacher and leader, Dr. Brooks has consistently centered and championed educational equity in public schools. Over the past three decades she has served in a variety of teaching and administrative roles on middle school and high school campuses, district and county offices, a charter management organization, and a public university.
