Demerris R. Brooks, EdD, is the Interim Vice-President of School and Community Programs at the Child Mind Institute.

She oversees the operations of school-based programs teams delivering prevention services and clinical treatment to students in partner public and charter schools, and professional training to educators and school-based mental health professionals.

As a teacher and leader, Dr. Brooks has consistently centered and championed educational equity in public schools. Over the past three decades she has served in a variety of teaching and administrative roles on middle school and high school campuses, district and county offices, a charter management organization, and a public university.
