Elizabeth S. Weinstein, MA, is a clinical extern in the Mood Disorders Center at the Child Mind Institute. She is a rising third-year clinical psychology trainee in the Clinical Psychology PhD Program at Hofstra University. Ms. Weinstein is skilled in providing evidence-based treatments, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy, and compassion-focused therapy. She has experience providing treatment to adolescents, young adults and adults with trauma, bipolar disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, agoraphobia and borderline personality disorder.

Ms. Weinstein has provided individual and group therapy in clinical settings. Prior to her doctoral training, Ms. Weinstein worked as a community residence counselor on an inpatient DBT unit at McLean Psychiatric Hospital with adolescents and young adults experiencing severe emotional and behavioral challenges. She also worked as a research assistant at the National Center for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) at Veterans Health Administration Boston on studies investigating treatments for veterans experiencing chronic pain and PTSD. Her doctoral research examines relationships between self-care behavior, psychopathology and well-being during the postpartum period.
