Isabella Xie
Isabella Xie (she/her/hers) is a psychology extern in the Anxiety Disorders Center at the Child Mind Institute. She is a fourth-year clinical psychology doctoral candidate at Palo Alto University, specializing in pediatric behavioral healthcare. Isabella’s clinical experience includes working with children and families with social anxiety, generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), selective mutism (SM), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), OCD, depression, eating disorders, behavioral concerns, and pediatric medical conditions.
In her current role at the Child Mind Institute, Isabella provides bilingual psychotherapy in Mandarin and English, utilizing various therapeutic interventions such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT), supportive parenting for anxious childhood emotions (SPACE), exposure and response prevention (ERP), and PCIT adapted for selective mutism. She also co-facilitates group therapies, including Emotion Detectives Group, Social Anxiety Groups, and multifamily group. Isabella is committed to providing personalized, evidence-based care for children and their families. She is also passionate about working with underserved populations. As an international student from China, she is driven by a desire to contribute to mental health reform in her home country by reducing stigma, providing accessible and effective care, and improving existing practices.
