Jamelia Silver, MBA, is an program operations manager for the Youth Mental Health Academy.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from Loyola Marymount University, followed by a master’s in business administration with an emphasis on entrepreneurship from Mount Saint Mary’s University.

During her undergraduate studies, Jamelia worked with the Los Angeles Unified School District’s Beyond the Bell, a program that offers a safe space for students in the South Los Angeles area to engage in extracurricular activities both before and after school. In her role, Jamelia helped kids with their homework and oversaw enrichment activities. She also launched a dance program for students, promoting social support, leadership, and teamwork. Jamelia left Beyond the Bell to pursue a position with the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Social Services. There, she worked on the California Healthcare Eligibility, Enrollment, and Retention System (CalHEERS) task force and intake unit, became a CalHEERs subject matter expert, and was promoted to unit lead. After completing her master’s degree, Jamelia accepted a regional manager position with Arc After School and Experiential Education, a nationally recognized organization that provides transformational learning opportunities to empower youth from underserved communities to realize their full potential.

In her role with the Youth Mental Health Academy, Jamelia is instrumental in planning and implementing the program’s support infrastructure, including budget and resource allocation. She is passionate about inspiring and empowering youth from her community to achieve success and is proud to be part of this program.
