Jennifer Ho, PhD, is a psychologist in the Autism Center at the Child Mind Institute. She specializes in the diagnostic evaluation and intervention of individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and complex co-occurring mental health disorders, learning challenges, medical conditions, and traumatic brain injury. As a psychologist in the Autism Center, Dr. Ho provides comprehensive diagnostic evaluations for individuals of all ages. She also works with individual, family, and group therapists to support anxiety management, enhance social functioning, improve parent-child interactions, foster flexibility in behavior, and develop skills related to daily living, such as sleep and toileting. Additionally, she regularly collaborates with families and school professionals to offer strengths-based educational support for students with ASD. Dr. Ho’s goal is to equip children and families with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive, all while emphasizing and building upon the inherent strengths of each child.

Dr. Ho has a lot of experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults across outpatient, school, and community settings. She’s trained in the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2) and employs a strengths-based approach within her comprehensive evaluations for ASD and co-occurring conditions. She has extensive experience in supporting skill development and addressing mental health needs common among youth on the autism spectrum, such as anxiety, mood dysregulation, inflexibility, attention problems, challenging behavior, and adaptive skill deficits. Her therapeutic approaches encompass cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), behavior parent training (BPT), and naturalistic approaches of applied behavior analysis (ABA).

Dr. Ho received her doctoral degree in school psychology from Oklahoma State University. She completed an APA-accredited internship at the May Institute in Randolph, MA and postdoctoral fellowship programs in autism and neurodevelopmental disorders at the Westchester Institute for Human Development in Valhalla, NY, and Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH. Prior to joining the Child Mind Institute, Dr. Ho provided clinical care in residential settings at Devereux in Rutland, Massachusetts, and at Andrus in Yonkers, New York.
