Kathy Georgiades, PhD
Kathy Georgiades, PhD, holds the Dan Offord Chair in Child Studies and is a professor in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioural Neurosciences at McMaster University and the Offord Centre for Child Studies. Her integrated program of research, mentorship, and collaboration is focused on improving child and youth mental health at the population level and reducing inequities in access to mental health care. She leads major population-based studies in Canada to understand the mental health needs of children and youth and identify gaps and inequities in access to care. Evidence from these studies can inform decisions about how mental health resources and services are allocated and targeted. When repeated over time, these studies provide the foundation for tracking changes in child and youth mental health and evaluating the impact of policies and practices at a population level.
