Mahham Fayyaz is a research assistant at the Autism Center under the leadership of Dr. Adriana Di Martino. In this role, Mahham supports the progress of research aimed to understand the neural correlates of autism spectrum disorder across development starting from early childhood. Specifically, Mahham assists in multiple aspects of this research ranging from participant recruitment to collection, management, and analysis of behavioral and brain imaging data. Mahham received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Sarah Lawrence College with a concentration in Psychology and Visual and Studio Arts. As an undergraduate in the Infant Development and Environmental Analysis (IDEA) Lab, she examined the impacts of diversity on face processing during infancy. She has also previously worked at Columbia University’s Center for Theoretical Neuroscience as a lab coordinator. Mahham aspires to pursue a doctoral degree in clinical psychology and hopes to continue working with children and families from underrepresented populations.
